Lesson: A Poem

There has been too much television time given by GMA-7 and ABS-CBN to halloween, halloween costumes, and in encouraging superstition. If anything, November 1 should make us reflect about the departed and where we are headed. The first degree cousin, Dr. Albert Dy, of one of our parters just passed away a few weeks ago and it reminded us of a poem by Alfrredo Navarro Salanga


Break open a stone
and listen to it cry.

You ask why?
Don’t turn to physics:

Physics doesn’t explain

All it can do’s confirm
the breaking of stone,

Physics can’t explain
what physicists can’t hear.

Next time you hear
a broken stone cry,

Try metaphysics.
