The Health Ministry began using the “Panbio™ COVID-19 Ag Rapid Test Device” which provides results in 15 minutes.
According to ministry spokeswoman Youk Sambath, the ministry began implementing rapid testing for the COVID-19 virus today in Phnom Penh and other high-risk provinces and cities.
She said during the meeting that Heath Minister Mam Bun Heng decided to use the rapid test kit to test for COVID-19 in all suspected areas, saying in each district, there will be a health centre to administer the tests.
The ministry implemented the rapid test kit yesterday at Doeum Kor market, saying among 940 suspected cases, up to 91 were found to be positive. When the results were verified with a larger machine, they were the same.
